Fjords and the German Luftwaffe

The German Luftwaffe, the air force of Nazi Germany, used fjords in Norway as air bases and for bombing missions against Allied targets. The deep inlets provided some protection from Allied air defenses, allowing the Luftwaffe to operate effectively against Allied forces in Norway.
